Original Extra Cheez-Burger
Sack your tastebuds with our Original Cheez-It® cracker infused smashburger topped with irresistibly cheesy infused pimento cheese and served on a buttery bun. Recipe Credit: Chef Zac Cardona - Cheez Wheelz Food Truck.
Ingredients
- 4 oz 80/20 Ground beef, rolled to a ball
- to taste Salt and pepper
- 1 ea Pickle chip
- 3 per burger, 1 bamboo pick Extra Big Cheez-It® crackers
- 1 ea Bun
- 1/3 cup Pimento Cheese Cheez-It® mix
- For Pimento Cheese Cheez-It® mix:
- 6 cups Shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
- 24 oz Cream cheese, softened
- 1½ cup Mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 3/4 tsp (optional, can use less) Cayenne pepper
- 3 seeded & minced Jalapeno peppers, fresh
- 3 (4 oz) jar Diced pimento, drained
- to taste Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper
- 6 cups (or 12.4 oz or 1 box) Original Cheez-It® crackers, crushed
Directions
1. Place beef on griddle, smash with spatula and weight.
2. Season with salt and pepper.
3. After flip, add Pimento Cheese Cheez-It® mix.
4. Butter buns and griddle.
5. Add pickle to bottom bun, then smash burger and top bun.
6. Garnish with Extra Big Cheez-It® crackers using bamboo pick.
Prepping Pimento Cheese Cheez-It® mix:
1. Into the bowl of a stand mixer, add cheddar cheese, cream cheese, mayo, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne and minced jalapeno.
2. Use paddle and beat at medium speed until combined
3. Add pimentos, and Cheez-It® crackers, seasoning with salt and pepper, mix again until combined
