TOTAL TIME (MIN): 30
SERVINGS 12 - 15

Ingredients

  • 2 boxes Cheez-It® Snack Mix
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups powdered sugar, divided
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons red and green sprinkles

Directions

1. In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter on high for about 15 seconds then stir. Repeat in 15-second intervals until melted and smooth. You can also melt the ingredients over a double boiler. Once melted, stir in the vanilla.

2. Add the Cheez-It® Snack Mix to a large bowl. Reserve two large handfuls of Cheez-It®Crackers and 2 large handfuls of pretzels and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet (this is what you’ll drizzle with white chocolate). Set aside.

3. Pour melted chocolate over the bowl of Cheez-It® Snack Mix and gently toss until thoroughly coated. Transfer the chocolate-covered cereal to a large zip-top bag and add 1 ½ cups of powdered sugar. Cover and shake until completely coated.

4. Pour the puppy chow onto a parchment-lined sheet pan and pop in the fridge to chill until firm, about 10 minutes.

5. While the muddy buddies are firming up, melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 15 seconds. Stir and repeat in 15-second intervals until the mixture is smooth. You can also melt the chocolate over a double boiler.

6. Using a spoon, drizzle the melted white chocolate over the Cheez-It® Crackers and pretzels, zig-zagging back and forth. Quickly add the Christmas sprinkles to the pretzels before the candy coating sets. Let chill in the fridge for 5 minutes to set.

7. Once chilled, transfer puppy chow back to a zip-top bag, add the remaining ¾ cup of sugar, and shake until the mixture is snow white.

8. Add the white chocolate Cheez-It® crackers and pretzels on top of the mix. Serve the puppy chow straight from the baking dish, spoon it into a serving bowl, or distribute it into festive tins or bags.
